About North London Interfaith

Our aim is to break through barriers of ignorance and prejudice so that harmonious living in a multifaith society becomes a reality.

We are a group mainly from North London (Camden, Islington and the west of Haringey) who seek dialogue with people of different faiths, in order to achieve a better understanding of the various beliefs which underpin thought and action. Membership is open to all. There is no charge. Christians, (including Roman Catholics, Anglicans, Methodists and Quakers) Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, Bahais, Hindus and Humanists attend our meetings. North London Interfaith is a project of Hampstead Monthly Meeting of the Society of Friends. Between April 2006 and March 2007 we received some support from the Community Development Foundation.

How we began

Hampstead Interfaith Group met monthly from 1994-2003 for evening talks and discussion on different faiths.

What we do now

Once or twice a year we visit a place of worship

We hold bi-monthly meetings with a talk by an invited speaker, who may be of any faith, followed by discussion.

We have a Jewish/Christian/Quaker Group which meets in a member's home once in two months for discussion. Those present choose the topic for the next meeting.

We have a Women's Group which meets on the last Friday of every month at a member's home in Crouch End. It's a relaxed afternoon, for women to talk, do a craft, drink tea and get to know one another. Women of any faith - or none - are welcome.
